Hi! 👋 I’m Can .
I grew up as a crazy scientist, trying to communicate with extraterrestrial civilizations and figure out time travel and teleportation (basic stuff for that age). I designed solar-powered firefighting drones, Hyperloop-style maglev trains, and smart car dashboard interfaces.
Years later, developing a keen interest in linguistics, I studied Japanese language and culture at the university, but then returned to my “roots” and did a Master of Science in IT Product Design at the University of Southern Denmark (Syddansk Universitet) with a focus on design fiction and futures.
After graduation, I returned to Istanbul and for over six years, I worked as a UX strategist, UX team of one, product designer/manager hybrid, and product designer in agency, and startup environments.
In 2021, I moved to the UK and started my new role at Cambridge University Press & Assessment as a User/Customer Experience Designer.
In my relatively short career so far, I have shipped products and features to thousands of users and hundreds of customers, by leading UX design and product direction. I have also done several freelance web design jobs as well as taking part in online co-innovation projects from which I won several awards.
As a designer, I am trying to stay as creative, forward-thinking, and hungry as my childhood self.
